101 in 1,001 Update

Can you believe it’s already April? Where has time gone? Did anyone play a good April Fool's joke on you today?

I started my 101 in 1,001 three months ago. I haven’t made a TON of progress, but I was quite ambitious with some of the things I wished to accomplish. So, for a quick update…

The item’s I’ve completed are:
  • Walk away from gossip. I’m working on doing this on a regular basis. It’s harder than it seems. How does one tactfully walk away without coming off as rude? I also have to ensure I’m not being a hypocrite. It’s a balance.
  • Watch vol. 1 of Glee season 1. This series is so much fun to watch and I’m excited for it to return on April 13!
  • Bring my own lunch to work every day for a month. This wasn’t easy, but I accomplished it and I’m proud of myself for doing so. I now have a Wellness Coach through work who is helping keep me on track with eating well.
  • Start a quote book. I love quotes and actually have a word doc on my computer with pages beyond pages of quotes that stand out to me. However, I fell in love with the idea of starting a quote book after watching A Walk to Remember over and over… it’s a great sentiment.
  • Take the Strengths Finder 2.0. The results weren’t shocking :)
  • Complete the 101 in 1,001 list by January 18, 2010 – Completed on January 13, 2010
  • In a social setting, approach someone I don’t know and start conversation. Completed at a recent bridal shower where I only knew 2 people.
  • Donate clothing I no longer wear. Goodwill, Lupus Foundation and ARC pick-ups are regular for my family and we have a pick-up next week, so I’ll need to dig through my closet again this weekend! If you don’t have these scheduled to your residence, you should look into doing so! They also collect home goods!
  • Have a full-day movie day in my pj’s. Can we make a monthly “PJ DAY!” holiday?
Things currently in progress:
  • Pay off my school loans.
  • Read 101 books in 1,001 days. Usually, I'm really good about reading lots of books in a short amount of time. For some reason, it's been a huge struggle in the past three months.
  • Spend an entire day at a spa with a friend. On the calendar!
  • Create a box filled with greeting cards for every occasion – use them. I’m collecting, but I have yet to buy a cute box to store them in.
  • Get a passport. The picture has been taken. It’s awful.
  • Stop coloring my hair. I’m in the process of getting my hair back to my natural color.
On Friday, I plan to participate in the KTIS Drive-Thru Difference, which will knock off the goal "Pay for the beverage or meal of someone in line behind me." ... So, if you're looking for a free beverage on Friday, you could follow me to work. Or not... that would be creepy. How 'bout you print out the form and also take part? I challenge you to do it!
